I’m Charlie Cooper. I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2025 with a B.A. in Mathematics and a B.A. in Computer Science.

Background:

  • Former research assistant at the UC Berkeley Computational Cognitive Science Lab with Professor Bill Thompson
  • Former autonomous flight intern at Joby Aviation
  • Fred Robley Shakespeare Scholar at Cabrillo Community College
  • I’m currently teaching myself about database management, API maintenance and ML for Intelligent Transit Systems (ITS). You can track my progress in my blog!

Interests:

  • Running! I am currently planning a marathon semi-circling the North Bay and spanning two bridges. [On pause – busted knee]
  • Writing! I am writing a novel that draws inspiration from Faulkner, Thomas Mann and J.D. Salinger. It is composed of scenes and I am working dilligently to avoid my natural tendancy to write like Sherwood Anderson. You can find snippets in creative writing.
  • Painting! I like to paint in acrylic on scrap wood. I am currently doing a series of telephone poles, which you can find under gallery.
